What happened in Reservoir section:
The mud engineer made a good displacement plan for displacing the well from SW to 1.25 sg mud. The plan involved column tank PT23 for transfer of mud up to surface pits on the fly. This tank has a volume sensor, and can therefore be included in the Active mud system. It was also a requirement that the mud pumps could take suction from all mud pits. Unfortunately, the plan did not work out as planned. The displacement took longer time and the pump rate was lower than planned. The main reason for this was rig equipment problems. The mud pumps could not get suction from Reserve 4 and Chemical pit due to plugged suction lines. Also, the volume sensor in column tank PT23 was not working (giving a mud loss) and could therefore not be included in the active system. Mud from PT23 had to be transferred to surface “off-line” using an extra pit.

What Was Planned

Displace well from SW to 1.25 sg mud.

What Actions Are Required

The Toolpusher should have the sensor in PT23 repaired, have suction lines cleared and transfer this experience to other derrickmen and mud engineers for next well.
